46 North Avenue is a modern historical house in Sydney, Australia. The architect team of Rolf Ockert Design has successfully redesigned this 100m2 wide building with combination of heritage front face and modern inside. Bricks wall covers this two level floors house on front porch. The designer uses artistic handmade tiles as floorings that look harmonious with the bricks. There is a small garden in front of it with black ornate steel fences as old houses typical design.
It looks extremely different inside. White walls are the palette for sparsely modern historical house plans all over the building. On this ground floor, there is a dining room with wooden table that opens to a living room. Sectional sofas and television desks are all white. They are the perfect palette for paintings, dining chairs, and sofa pillows with glorious multicolor artistic patterns. Even it has plain palette, but actually, this space is really cheerful and encourage the occupants every single day.
Wooden cladding hedges and grayish futuristic walls complete the exterior of this dwelling. It is like the house has two different personalities between historic and modern chic designs. Granite tiles cover a terrace on backyard. There is an outdoor dining there with ornamental plants on its sides. On the other part of this terrace, there is another outdoor dining in earthy design with barbeque set at the corner. It is a kind of dream house, right?
Wooden steps stairs without balusters connect the ground floor to the upper floor. A tight space for stairs is even looks bright because of white walls and glass walls as the natural light ways. Slim glass ventilations in colorful sides also cheer up this plain surface. There is a bedroom on the upper floor with grayish carpet and semitransparent glass walls. It looks colorful because of festive concept that the designer applies even for this private space. Even this house is a combination of authentic historical house plans with modern concept, but it is still a homey place to live.
